One Michael Darby likes to tinker with the Rasberry Pi and Game Boy to create different gaming experiences. His latest project was to attempt playing PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on the Game Boy Color – which he did manage, kinda.

The cool thing about all this isn't that he actually played PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on the Game Boy Color, (because he only partly did) but how he managed to combine all the components, remap it, and successfully got it to work. He explains the whole process in detail on his blog here.
Of course, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds didn't run smoothly in his experiment, the movement was much slower, but at least he could get a few shots in, took a swim, explored, threw grenades, and interacted with the game world. Graphics wise it also doesn't look too bad. What he couldn't do was reload, and drive vehicles.
