PlayStation 4 System Software 5.0 details leaked – Big changes to PS4 Pro Twitch streaming

If you are a PS4 owner, you would know that Sony does not release system updates as fast and regularly as Microsoft does for their Xbox One, but when they do, they provide quite a significant update to the system. New features are added like the one that finally introduced external hard drive support which eliminated all our storage woes forever. The next update headed to the PS4 and PS4 Pro is system software 5.0 and up to now, we have not known much about it, until leaked information coming out of the beta test has spilt some bean about what we can expect from it.

Eurogamer reports that update 5.0 will bring some new changes to Twitch streaming, as the software will unlock a 1080p and 60FPS feature exclusively for PS4 Pro owners. There have also been reports that the update will add a new option to the quick menu where you will be able to access your notifications and even your downloads without having to go back to the main screen and then access the menus there.

Sony will also be changing up the PS4 family account system where users will be able to add multiple adult accounts in a family and access set parental controls per each account. This means that each child account could have different communications, content-drawing and even game time privileges.

Last, but not least, we have the reported minor changes to the VR mode when broadcasting, push notifications for events, and the ability to broadcast to a PlayStation Community directly when streaming.

While these changes do not point to any major updates in my life, it is always nice to have them. I know personally, I am waiting for two things, PSN ID change, and the ability to change your region when you move from one country to another. There is no release date for the new update as of yet, but reports claim that we should see it in the next few weeks alongside a new PlayStation App update which will, once again, introduce a new improved design and performance.

Any of these reported features change your life? Let us know in the comments below.
