PC gamers will finally experience the journey of Prince Noctis in Final Fantasy XV


Final Fantasy XV is a brilliant, beautiful RPG currently only available on the PS4 and Xbox One. This will all change next year, as it was announced at gamescom 2017 today that the game will finally be making its way onto PC and will be called Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition in “early 2018”.

PC gamers will finally be able to step into the boots of Prince Noctis in by far the best-looking version of the game we’ve ever seen.  

For those who’ve been waiting for a PC release of Final Fantasy XV, it looks like the wait will be well worth it, boasting awesome graphical enhancements and advanced PC features via NVIDIA GameWorks. Hajime Tabata, the Director of Final Fantasy XV, explains that:

“With the help of NVIDIA, we are creating a stunning visual experience in FINAL FANTASY XV WINDOWS EDITION, one worthy of this beloved franchise. NVIDIA pushes the pace of innovation in our industry, and that benefits gamers and developers alike.”

The Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition will sport 4K High-Resolution Textures and Dolby Atmos, as well as cutting-edge graphics and physics simulation technologies via NVIDIA GameWorks, which you can read about more below:

  • NVIDIA Flow – creates vivid, combustible fluid, fire and smoke.
  • NVIDIA HairWorks – creates dynamic, life-like hair and fur for characters, animals and monsters that inhabit the game.
  • NVIDIA ShadowWorks – enables characters to cast shadows on themselves.
  • NVIDIA Turf Effects – creates life-like grass and vegetation in the game environment.
  • NVIDIA VXAO – adds depth and realism based on the physics principles shadows and light.

At the time of writing, no specific release date, price or system requirements of the PC version has been revealed. However, just by looking at the trailer below, we simply can’t wait to explore the memorising, spectacular world of Final Fantasy XV on PC as prince Noctis. The game will be released on Steam, Origin, and Windows 10 Store,
