Blizzard hiring for an unannounced Overwatch project

[media:52052]

What could it be? This project that Blizzard is hiring for? A recent internship ad that Blizzard posted online is looking for a Generalist Artist to work for the company starting in mid-2018. Sure, this could be any sort of internship but the details of the ad are what makes this interesting. The ad is seeking “someone with the knowledge and understanding of the Overwatch universe” that will see them “create a wide range of assets”.

Now the question is, what is this new Overwatch content they are hiring for. Could it be DLC, which by the way has not been released yet rather Blizzard opts for timed-events. Could it be perhaps a dedicated single player DLC which we are all hoping for? Some are even predicting that it could be a mobile game because Blizzard wants to make an Overwatch mobile game (not really).

This could also tie into the unannounced shooter that Blizzard is working on too which back in June was revealed after a job description went up looking for a lead software engineer that could work on a “robust first-person engine”. Could this be for Overwatch 2? Who knows. All we do know is that if this opening is for mid-2018, then it might be some time before we see any of these games actually being announced. BlizzCon 2017 is right around the corner taking place on 3 and 4 November, so that expo is the best time to announce something, but then again it is Blizzard so probably not.

At least we have the Overwatch Halloween Terror 2017 event starting today, so that will a be a good dosage of Overwatch to keep us busy for a while.

What do you think Blizzard is working on? Let us know in the comments below.
