After two years in Early Access on Steam, GORN, the VR gladiator game developed by South African studio Free Lives and published by Devolver Digital, has slashed its way out of Early Access with a full release. Free Lives are the developers behind BroForce and GORN looks incredibly fun to play as well, so those PC gamers who do have a HTC Vive, Oculus Rift or Valve Index are in for a bloody treat.
With the full release of GORN, you can save 25% on Steam when picking up this locally developed game. GORN will set you back R164.25 on the game’s Steam page. Many games in Steam’s Early Access program stay there for years and never get released, as they get stuck in development limbo, so seeing a South African developed game make its way out of Early Access is simply a great thing.
The developer also thanked the community, stating that:
Free Lives mentions that this is not the end of GORN, but it is rather only the beginning, as they plan to bring the game to as many platforms as possible and they already have a small post-launch update planned. The full release also sees the addition of the final battle, where GORN players will be able to face off against “ALIMTA himself” and there is also a new weapon, an “actual, literal hand cannon” to destroy your enemies with.
