It’s always great to see a South African player do well in the esports scene and even better when they get recognized internationally. Aran “Sonic” Groesbeek has long been considered one of the best CS: GO players in the country, playing for Bravado Gaming, which then changed the team name to Denial Esports before getting picked up by ATK Arena. Now, this amazing South African CS: GO player has joined an international pro organization, Team Envy.
Team Envy is a US-based organization South African CS: GO player Sonic has joined and they are currently ranked 86th in the world according to HLTV. The team is currently participating in the IEM Chicago North American Open Qualifier #2 and from the most recent match against Thunder Logic, it looks like the South African CS: GO player is doing just great.
Team Envy made the announcement about Sonic joining their CS: GO roster recently in a post on their website, explaining that:
Sonic replaces JDM in the starting roster for Team Envy CS and honestly, I can’t be more proud of this great South African CS: GO player making his way into an international squad that does show a lot of promise. Don’t forget to follow Sonic on Twitter for all the latest updates.
