First up, you need to know what’s at stake. The winner of this national final in November (in Cape Town) will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to compete at the Red Bull Kumite last-chance qualifier, as well as the opportunity to attend the Red Bull Kumite World Finals later this year. Those who win their respective qualifiers will have all their travel and accommodation costs covered, regardless of the city they qualified in.

Best of all, entry to any of these Red Bull Hit The Streets qualifiers are free and walk-in only, so this weekend you can just show up at the Nexus Hub on 31 August two hours before the qualifier kicks off and register to take part. The Red Bull Hit The Streets page explains:

Starting on August 17 2019, we’ll be beginning our Country Wide Street Side Brawl competition to find the best of the best SA has to offer. The qualification tour will run until the end of October and comprises 7 official qualifier events. These events will be run by 3rd-party venues and expos, including ATK Arena, Nexus Hub, rAge, and Comic-Con Africa.

Run in a standard ‘double-elimination format’, these qualifiers will each yield a single winner who will earn a direct seeding into the Grand Finale event in Cape Town on November 7th. Don’t fret if you’re not Cape Town-based – our 7 finalists will have all their travel and accommodation costs covered, regardless of the city you qualified in.
