Red Alert Remastered Development Moving Along Nicely, Tesla Tank Shown Off

If you are an old-school RTS fan, then the Command & Conquer: Red Alert Remastered has to be one the games you are looking forward to the most, I know it definitely is for me. In case you’ve been living under a Tiberian rock, Both Red Alert Remastered and Tiberian Dawn Remastered was confirmed to be in the works by ex-Westwood developers at Petroglyph in collaboration with EA. Now, it looks like Red Alert Remastered development is moving along very nicely in an update from the developer.

Jim Vessella, an EA producer, has shared progress on Red Alert Remastered on Reddit, including an image of the iconic Tesla Tank that sent some shivers down my spine as I can still remember these beasts showing up at my base, countless times in fact. Mr Vessella explained that positive momentum continues in the development of the remaster and that they have achieved their first production milestone.

This milestone is that the first campaign mission of Tiberian Dawn has reached full alpha-tier of quality, meaning that it now has the same visual quality of the Tesla Tank, an image of which you can view below.

Mr Vessella continued by explaining that:

This means all the mission visuals are now showcasing the 4k assets from Lemon Sky, and the mission can be completed with all the core gameplay mechanics. I’ll admit when playing this full mission experience, the game started to transport me back to when I first played C&C, and I hope it does the same for all of you when the game is released. However, one of the more exciting accomplishments of this milestone actually had nothing to do with Tiberian Dawn. That’s because we were able to get Red Alert playable for the first time.

We are now able to load Red Alert missions, and the game is already being populated with several of the remastered visual assets. That’s because even though Red Alert just became playable in the software, Lemon Sky has actually been creating assets for Red Alert over the past several months. So to celebrate this first step for Red Alert, we thought it would be fun to share a preview for one of the most iconic Red Alert units – the Tesla Tank.

It is honestly one of the remasters I’ve been looking forward to the most and although there is no specific release date, it is great to hear that the development is moving along nicely.
