PS5 Key Features
The PS5 will be launching with a solid-state storage drive making it ideal for large games and faster loading. The SSD will allow users to choose what game modes they want to install when first downloading a game as well as load into a specific level in a game without going into the game’s main menu.
We know the PS5 will feature backwards compatibility for PS4 games but according to Sony, will be limited to specific games at first. Titles may also need to be patched in order to support the PS5. Certain games will also be updated with PS5 enhancements to make use of the power of the next-gen console.
The PS5 will also feature 3D Audio throughout the experience. Sony states this feature will make use of speakers and headphones already on the market and is chipset-related. As for the new DualShock 5 controller, it will feature haptic feedback vibration instead of the motor vibrators. The controller will also use adaptive triggers that will push back on a user’s finger depending on the situation in the game.
Xbox Scarlet Key Features
When compared to the PlayStation 5, we don’t know much about Xbox Scarlet. Microsoft has been silent about the console other than revealing it is arriving next year. We know the specs will be quite close to the PS5 and the Xbox Scarlet will feature backwards compatibility.
Of course, we will learn more about these two next-gen consoles as we edge closer to the launch. We will keep this post updated as more details come to light.
