The next game in the Resident Evil franchise, Project Resistance, has been revealed in a brand-new trailer from Capcom. The Project Resistance trailer reveals that the game will indeed be a team-based survival horror title as the leaked images earlier this month hinted towards and interestingly, the game’s title doesn’t have Resident Evil in it, although it is definitely part of the universe.
You can watch the Project Resistance trailer at the bottom of this article. No gameplay was shown as this is a cinematic trailer and the video description simply reads that:
A brand-new team-based survival horror experience is coming.
That’s not much to go on, but from the Project Resistance trailer released by Capcom today, we can see that the game should feature four-player co-op play and we also see a familiar not-so-friendly face make an appearance. Mr X (which you should know from Resident Evil 2) is showcased and it looks like he is being remote-controlled with a mission to kill some teens, presumably the characters gamers will be able to control in the game.
We also see a Licker zombie make an appearance and it is clear that the director of an Umbrella Corp facility is locking down exits and trying to stop these teens from escaping, while also activating The Tyrant (Mr X) to crush anyone in his wake. It is unknown at this time if one player might be able to assume the role of the director, which would be pretty cool.
We should know more about the game later this week as it will be shown off at the Tokyo Game Show which starts on 12 September 2019.
