Take a look at Biomutant’s character creator and weapon crafting

Biomutant was officially announced right before Gamescom 2017 and since then we have seen very little of the game. Set in a world struck by natural disaster as oil comes up from beneath the surface and pollutes the Tree of Life, players need to venture to the end of each of the tree's five roots in order to destroy whatever is hurting the tree on the other side. The game features an intense hack and slash combat system and a customizable tribe system where players can ally with a tribe or eliminate them in order to take over the lands. Biomutant sounds very interesting and we finally got a glimpse of the game's character creator thanks to an interview with PC Gamer.

The system seems quite simple and takes the form of a hex grid where players will be able to adjust sliders to change a range of stats on their character. This process is called “Recoding” and changes things like your fur shape and colour but also things like each body part which ultimately affects your cybernetic and biomutant abilities. All these sliders will let you really get into your character's stats and adjust anything at any time so if you are unhappy with your character you do not need to start fresh, but rather just adjust a few things to change him up.

When it comes to the weapon system, Experiment 101 suggests there are hundreds and thousands of different possibilities that can be created. This is mainly thanks to the fact that you can customize each part of each weapon from its ammo type to its blade coating. It seems that the weapon crafting will be quite fun to experience too as you will get to dive deep into each stat and see how each modification changes the way you handle your arms.

Last but not least, the latest gameplay also shows off the world and some parkour and combat. As you can see the world looks extremely detailed and diverse with various climates and ecosystems to explore. When it comes to combat we are looking at a very fast-paced sort of Kingdom Hearts styled battle system where you will use your environment to your advantage while slicing and dicing enemies up. The studio has described the game as a “post-apocalyptic kung-fu” game and this gameplay surely hits the nail on the head.

Take a look at the gameplay below and let us know what you think of all this in the comment section. The game is due for release sometime in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
