With the huge success of Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, players want more of the classics remastered for the current generation of gaming and it looks like their wish is coming true. According to multiple sources familiar with the project (as reported by Kotaku), Activision is currently working on a Spyro The Dragon Remastered Trilogy that will be announced in March and will release around September this year.
The trilogy will feature three games completely built from the ground up just as Crash Bandicoot was, featuring new assets, lighting, animations, cinematics and of course a remastered soundtrack. The three games will be Sypro The Dragon, Ripto's Rage! and Year of the Dragon. According to these sources, the game is currently in development for PS4 and PS4 Pro and will release in time for Spyro's 20th anniversary which is in September this year.
The game will remain a PS4 timed exclusive until 2019 when it will be ported to other consoles. On that note, the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy could also be releasing on other platforms this year with sequels in development for next year and 2020.
While this is not confirmed yet, it sounds pretty solid given that the details of the game align with all the Crash Bandicoot features we saw in last year's remastered trilogy. We will have to wait and see if the game is announced in March as the sources say and if so we will be flying around Glimmer in September this year.
