Black Ops 4 Blackout map shows looting spots and more

Black Ops 4 Blackout

If you’re playing the Black Ops 4 Blackout beta, then you’ll want to jump into the war zone as prepared as possible. Thanks to Gearnuke we have a fan-made map of the whole area that shows looting spots and possible mystery box spawn locations.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout beta is now open to everyone on PC, while still reserved for those who pre-ordered the game on console. From our time with the PlayStation 4 beta we concluded that it could possibly be the next battle royale king.  It even has the potential to save the Call of Duty series.

Please keep in mind that the map is fan-made and probably not 100% correct. It does, however, give a good indication of all the most valuable points of interest.

In any battle royale mode it is vital to find loot as soon as possible, and with this map you’ll have that advantage. Black Ops 4 developer, Treyarch, will most probably make a lot of changes to the map after the beta.

Black Ops 4 Blackout – Tips from Treyarch

The Black Ops 4 Blackout beta ends on Monday, so there’s precious little time left to enjoy the game. In a recent blog post, Treyarch explains that every time you play Blackout, you will have a different experience.

The number of differing variables in each Blackout are infinite – different players drop in different areas, collect different weapons, push outwards at different times, etc. etc. In short, the fun of Blackout comes down to choices. Your ability to choose your path and how to navigate it makes this mode endlessly replayable.

So, even though you might have memorized the above map, it doesn’t mean that it will automatically guarantee a win.

Treyarch outlined the two most important decisions every Blackout player has to make. One before you drop into the map, and throughout the duration of the round.

Blackout: Most important decisions

The first decision is the location of your drop. Do you aim for high loot-filled areas, or do you land on the outskirts to avoid instant combat? When going straight for the loot drops, know that you’ll have to be ready to face opposition. If you want to have time to find your feet and search for loot, then select buildings on the outskirts of the map. Simply follow the parachutes if you want to know where the majority of players are heading.

The second choice relates to which gear to keep, and which to drop. According to Treyarch you should prioritize armour and health first. When it comes to weapons, select range over other stats, and stick with what you’re good at.

As we’ve seen in our playtime with the beta, action is fast and deadly, so rather stick with a gun you can handle, than with a more powerful one you’re hoping to get a hit with. If you don’t like weapons that have range, like the sniper and tactical rifles, then make sure your Assault rifle or SMG at least has a scope or barrel attachment.

Lastly, talking about stacking up on health, always go for the Trauma kit whenever possible. First Aid kits are the weakest, Med Kits are better, and Trauma Kits the best.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 releases on October 12 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One
