While you are sitting in the corner of Control Point B sniping little kids as they walk past in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Activision is raking in the cash and thanking you for once again buying their latest Call of Duty release.

Even without a dedicated single-player mode, the game is on fire. In just three days, it has managed to make Activision $500 million. This is considerably good seeing as Call of Duty: WWII’s sales were on a similar path but they died soon after release. Black Ops 4 relies on multiplayer and more people joining the game so Activision foresees Black Ops 4 having a longer tail than WWII. This is already clear in the player count as according to Activision, more people are currently playing Black Ops 4 than people were playing COD: WWII when it launched last year.
“Black Ops 4 is off to a blockbuster start,” said Rob Kostich, GM of the Call of Duty franchise. “Our player counts and hours played are up year over year, our viewership on Twitch has set new standards and is showing just how fun Blackout is to play and to watch, and the weekend results yet again put Call of Duty at that highest tier of entertainment.”
In fact, more people are playing Black Ops 4 across the multiplayer, zombies and Blackout mode than WWII and Black Ops 3. PC sales are also up for the series too for the first time in years and Activision thanks the Battle.net partnership for making this happen. As you know, Black Ops 4 is not available anywhere but on Blizzard’s game launcher which makes it an exclusive buy for gamers.
