Battle Royale fans are eagerly waiting for the start of the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta to begin next week as they will finally get hands-on time with the game’s new open-world-like mode. The beta kicks off on 10 September 2018 for PS4 with other platforms a few days later. Developer Treyarch jumped the gun and revealed the game’s map which is a big deal as it is where you will be spending the most time in the mode of course and so far, while the map looks cool, there is nothing much else going on worth getting hyped about. It looks like a Battle Royale map, enough said.
The only major draw here is the giant river which divides much of the locations of the map, this is something we have not seen much of in other games of the genre as they all have barren fields with a few landmarks here and there. The map seems to include various ecosystems including jungles, deserts and even a coastal area. Of course, NukeTown Island looks awesome too.
The map can be seen below in all its glory which includes locations like Fracking Tower, Turbine, Cargo Docks, Array, Construction Site, Hydro Dam and much more.
- Cargo Docks
- Fracking Tower
- Nuketown Island
- Firing Range
- Hydro Dam
- Train Station
- Construction Site
I am pretty excited to give this mode a go as I don’t play any Battle Royale games at all but love COD so this could swing my view on it. Anything is better than PUBG and Fortnite right now. Treyarch also released a brand-new trailer for the game mode. This is the first time the mode has been seen in its full gameplay glory and it looks great. The trailer showcases a lot of different gameplay mechanics as you or your team get airdropped onto this giant map and need to hunt down other players and end them. The trailer puts a heavy focus on the different abilities you will be able to use thanks to the Specialist Classes as well as the gadgets such as the RC Remote Bomb Car and much more. Most of all, you can actually see all the above-listed areas in all their glory and even get a glimpse of the zombies which seem to live near the asylum.
The trailer also showcases player exploration from swimming, sailing across a lake in a boat and even jumping on a quad bike and ramping up a building. It seems that Treyarch truly thought of everything when it comes to their dedicated Battle Royale mode. Check out the trailer below;
Will you be playing Blackout when the beta goes live next week? Let us know in the comments below.
