Tyle “Ninja” Blevins, possibly the biggest Fortnite streamer and one of Twitch’s biggest accounts will be leaving the platform in favour of Microsoft’s Mixer.
Ninja tweeted the news stating it is “the next chapter” for him after being with Twitch since his rise to fame in 2017.
Microsoft’s Mixer platform has been lagging behind the likes of Twitch and YouTube since its debut in 2016 and even its 2017 rebrand did not do much for the service. Mixer is confident the move will be great for them stating;
Ninja revealed the partnership has been in talks for some time now and he is “super-excited” to be streaming on Mixer full-time. So much so that he is at a “loss for words”.
The streamer promises his streams will remain the same and the move allows him to go back to his roots. He also confirmed he will not be moving away from Fortnite anytime soon.
Twitch, who recently faced some nasty backlash due to a breastfeeding fiasco, wished him luck saying;
Microsoft has a history with buying out already-popular things such as studios and brands so this move was not surprising. We will have to see how this helps Mixer and whether or not it will be beneficial for Ninja.
