About two months ago, Epic upped their free games giveaways to one per week, instead of one every two weeks. Now, it looks like they are pushing things to the next level yet again as next Thursday, you will be able to grab two games for free from the Epic Games Store. Before we get to the two free games, however, don’t forget that you can get the fantastic puzzle/platformer, Limbo, for free right now.
To get Limbo for free, all you need to do is head on over to this link and claim the game, then it will be yours to keep forever. Now, onto the two free games that you can pick up starting next Thursday 25 July 2019.
The two free games coming next to the Epic Games Store is Moonlighter, an ARPG that looks pretty great, and This War of Mine, one of the few games that have taken an emotional tone on me, as it focuses on those helpless survivors during times of war and is an absolute must-play.
Starting 25 July 2019, you can pick up these two free games by heading to the links below.
If you need more convincing to pick up some free games, then check out a description and trailer for both below.
During a long-passed archaeological excavation, a set of Gates were discovered. People quickly realized that these ancient passages lead to different realms and dimensions – providing brave and reckless adventurers with treasures beyond measure. Rynoka, a small commercial village, was founded near the excavation site providing refuge and a place for adventurers to sell their hard-earned riches.
Moonlighter is an Action RPG with rogue-lite elements following the everyday routines of Will, an adventurous shopkeeper that dreams of becoming a hero.
This War of Mine
In This War Of Mine you do not play as an elite soldier, rather a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city; struggling with lack of food, medicine and constant danger from snipers and hostile scavengers. The game provides an experience of war seen from an entirely new angle.
The pace of This War of Mine is imposed by the day and night cycle. During the day snipers outside stop you from leaving your refuge, so you need to focus on maintaining your hideout: crafting, trading and taking care of your survivors. At night, take one of your civilians on a mission to scavenge through a set of unique locations for items that will help you stay alive.
Make life-and-death decisions driven by your conscience. Try to protect everybody from your shelter or sacrifice some of them for longer-term survival. During war, there are no good or bad decisions; there is only survival. The sooner you realize that, the better.
