The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Might Be Coming To The Switch

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

The Legend of Zelda is, without a doubt, a timeless franchise and the latest game, Breath of the Wild, is simply spectacular. One of the best games in the franchise, the 16th mainline entry, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, is something that I am sure all Switch owners will start to drool over uncontrollably if it comes to the Switch that is. It seems like this might be the case as The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword has reportedly been teased for the Switch.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword released on the Nintendo Wii in 2011 and got rave reviews from fans and critics alike. Currently, the game sits on a 93 Metacritic score and it is clearly one of the best games on the console. Now, it seems like the game will be coming to the Switch in the future.

This hasn’t been directly confirmed just yet. However, Eiji Aonuma, series director for The Legend of Zelda, has reportedly teased a remake or port of Skyward Sword for the Nintendo Switch. This happened during a Nintendo Live event in Japan during a Legend of Zelda concert performance, where Eiji Aonuma reportedly said: “We know what you are thinking – Skyward Sword for Switch. Right?”

A ResetEra thread quickly popped up and pointed towards the tease and reaction from fans in the crowd.

So what would The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword look like on the Switch? Although there are no official screenshots, Twitter user Kanozu pointed out that during the development of Breath of the Wild, Nintendo’s Research & Development team did some quick tests on how Skyward Sword HD would look, so check it out below.
