After it was announced that Electronic Arts canceled a narrative-based Star Wars game, which was being developed by the EA Vancouver studio, we have some good news for you regarding Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. As EA had previously aimed at releasing Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in 2019 when the publisher announced the game, we’re stoked to see that it hasn’t been scraped too, and, in fact, has a 2019 release window.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has been confirmed to be released in Fall 2019 (roughly between September – November). The confirmation for the release window for the game came as part of EA’s quarterly earnings report. Seeing as the release window is so late in the year, there is a slight possibility that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order could be pushed to an early 2020 release date. But fans are hoping the game will be released this year, especially since another Star Wars game was canceled this year. It was previously confirmed to be released during the holiday season though, so fingers are crossed for a late-2019 release.
The game is being developed by the same gaming developer that brought you Titanfall and the newly released Apex Legends – Respawn Entertainment.
From Respawn Entertainment comes a brand-new action adventure game which tells an original Star Wars™ story around a surviving Padawan set shortly after the events of Star Wars™: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith™.
Star Was Jedi: Fallen Order is being developed by the former God of War director, Stig Asmussen, along with a team of “veterans from some of the industry’s biggest action-adventure games“. EA hopes to give Star Wars fans the opportunity to “live the life of a Jedi” with the new Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order game.
We’ve also recently learned that EA is planning on releasing a new Plant vs Zombies game as well as a new Need For Speed game, with EA COO and CFO, Blake Jorgensen, explaining EA’s plan to release new games, which includes Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Looking forward, we’re delighted to launch Anthem, our new IP, to grow Apex Legends and related Titanfall experiences, to deliver new Plants vs. Zombies and Need for Speed titles, and to add Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to our sports titles in the fall.
EA’s Anthem releases later this month, and promises to be game-changing, so we’re excited to see what Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has in store for us.
