Razer Ripsaw HD Announced – The Ultimate External Capture Device for Content Creators

Razer Ripsaw HD

Razer has introduced the Razer Ripsaw HD, a new capture device that will allow users to capture 1080p 60 FPS video content while allowing 4K and 60 FPS passthrough so even if you are not recording, your gaming experience will be just as smooth.

The device is smaller than a 2.5-inch HDD and comes packed with a load of cool features. The device makes use of external storage in the form of a connected PC and features a simple HDMI input and output system along with a USB 3.0 connection for seamless streaming.

The box has a built-in audio mixing feature so you can stream and game with no microphone and audio latency and the microphone support lets users make use of one microphone across two PCs. This all allows for seamless integration without the need for audio-mixing software or other complicated setups as the streamer can use in-game communication while still broadcasting their voice audio to the Razer Ripsaw HD.

Setup is quite simple for the device. You plug in your console or gaming PC on one end of the HDMI input and the monitor or TV to the other output and your PC gets plugged in through the USB Type-C. The device does rely on a PC to save the videos to and does not have internal storage. The best feature of all is the fact that you can still play your games in 4K while you are capturing your content in 1080p. Although, the device does not record in 4K.

The Razer Ripsaw HD will be available from mid-April and will retail for $159,99. South African release date and pricing are still to be confirmed.
