It’s been officially announced that a new Power Rangers game is going to be released this year. The upcoming Power Rangers game will be a fighting game, and is called Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid.
This is the first Power Rangers game to be released since the 2017 mobile game, Power Rangers: Legacy Wars. The new game is made by the same company (nWay Games) that created the 2017 game for iOS and Android, but will be released on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the PC.
It was announced that nWay Games has partnered with Hasbro and Lionsgate for this new Power Rangers game. The teaser trailer features the Green Ranger, portrayed by the original himself – Jason David Frank.
One of the most exciting new details revealed about the upcoming new Power Rangers game is that it will allow for cross-play for PC, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, with no news on whether the PlayStation 4 version will allow for cross-play.
Players will be able to play with various different iterations of the Power Rangers in the upcoming game, being able to go back to some of the more classic versions. Also expect awesome villains, that fans of the franchise will instantly recognize, as well as new ones. From the short teaser trailer, the game looks visually exciting and the gameplay will hopefully be thrilling, too.
The previous Power Rangers mobile game was a huge success, with over 45 million downloads, so it’s safe to assume that this upcoming follow-up will probably be a big hit too.
The new game is set for release in April 2019 for consoles, with the PC version expected to be released later in the year. If you pre-order now, you’ll get access to an exclusive V2 Green Ranger skin. Have a look at the teaser trailer below.
