Over 355,000 Apex Legends Cheaters Banned, Reporting System Incoming

Apex Legends cheaters

Everyone and their cat knows just how big Apex Legends has become and with over 50 million players, there will obviously be some cheaters, especially on PC. Well, Respawn has taken quite a lot of action against Apex Legends cheaters, as the developer announced they have banned over 355,000 cheaters on PC through the Easy-Anti-Cheat service.

Respawn took to Reddit to talk about how their fight against Apex Legends cheaters is going, explaining that:

As of today we’ve banned over 355K players on PC through Easy-Anti-Cheat. The service works but the fight against cheaters is an ongoing war that we’ll need to continue to adapt to and be very vigilant about fighting. We take cheating very seriously and care deeply about the health of Apex Legends for all players.

It is great to see the developer fight against cheaters and 355,000 is quite a large number. However, since the game is free-to-play, it is very easy just to create a new account and keep on cheating. With that being said, the developer has additional plans to combat Apex Legends cheaters and they have to be quite secretive about their plans.

Respawn notes that cheaters are crafty and they don’t want cheaters to see their measures coming. Even so, the developer did share what they call high-level things that they are working on to combat Apex Legends cheaters:

  • We are reaching out and working directly with experts, both within and outside of EA, in this area that we can learn from.
  • Scaling up our anti-cheat team so we have more dedicated resources.
  • We are adding a report feature on PC to report cheaters in game that goes directly to Easy-Anti-Cheat.

This sounds great, especially the reporting feature so that everyone can join in the fight against Apex Legends cheaters.
