Lionsgate and Good Shepard Entertainment have revealed a John Wick game called John Wick Hex. The action strategy game will be based on the popular John Wick franchise, which features a hitman, portrayed by Keanu Reeves with a great back story and amazing action.
The John Wick game will launch exclusively for the Epic Games store for PC and Mac, with console releases following after the release. The game is being developed by Mike Bithell, the directed behind Thomas was Alone, Volume, and Subsurface Circular.
The upcoming game will let players take on the role of Keanu Reeves’s John Wick character. Players will be tasked at solving puzzles, strategically planning the famous hitman’s next moves and attacks. You will have to consider every move’s consequences and what it will mean for the progression of your game. As you progress, you’ll be able to unlock new weapons, tactics, locations, suits, ammunition and more. The moves and fights in the game are based on the scenes from the movies. Based on the announcement trailer, the game will be very fast paced, with it be described as a “fight-choreographed chess game brought to life as a videogame“.
The game is in the graphic art noir style and will not feature voice work from Keanu Reeves, but rather Ian McShane and Lance Reddick will be (voice) reprising their roles from the movies.
The game doesn’t have an official release date yet, with more updates to follow. The third movie in the franchise, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, will be premiering on 17 May 2019. The first movie, John Wick: Chapter 1 premiered in 2014, and the sequel, John Wick: Chapter 2 premiered in 2017. All three the movies were directed by Chad Stahelski and star Keanu Reeves as the title character.
