Fortnite Update Sees The Return of Dynamite

Fortnite update

On Tuesday, Fortnite update v6.30 saw the Wild West riding into the game with a bang. The limited time mode included weapons from “frontier times” like the Six Shooter, Pump Shotgun, and Hunting Rifle. The available items list brought a new sheriff to town, namely the dynamite stick, which proved too strong to handle as it crashed Fortnite servers.

Epic Games was quick on the draw and quietly released a Fortnite update that returns dynamite to the game – without the servers crashing. The post on Reddit didn’t detail any changes to the Dynamite, so the specs should still be the same.

You’ll find the Dynamite in stacks of three. It deals 70 damage to players and 800 damage to structures, with a shorter throw range than standard grenades. You can cancel a throw during the five-second fuse charge. The explosion covers an area of 1600 units in diameter and 384 units in height. Players can find Dynamite on floor loot, chests, Vending Machines, Supply Llamas, and Supply Drops.

The small update also sees some changes to the mounted turret.

  • Headshot Multiplier: Reduced from 2.0x to 1.5x
  • Time To Overheat: Reduced from 10 seconds to 6 seconds

The next Fortnite update (v6.31) will see a further two changes to the Mounted Turret. The first is aimed at the player – it will be easier to land shots on whoever is manning the turret. While the second on the turret itself – the turret floor will take structure damage when hit (as opposed to the player taking that damage).

In other Fortnite news, did you know that it won two Golden Joystick Awards; Best Competitive Game and Ultimate Game of the Year? Fortnite is also a Nominee in four categories for the upcoming The Game Awards 2018, so don’t forget to vote if you’re a fan.
