Farming Simulator eSports League Has A R3.8 Million Prize Pool

Farming Simulator esports

There are many massive esports leagues out there, like Dota 2, Fortnite and Overwatch. But there are other, lesser-known leagues that offer huge prizes too, like the Farming Simulator esports League, which has a surprisingly big prize pool.

The developer of the game, GIANTS Software announced that season two of the Farming Simulator esports tournament will be launched this year, with a total prize pool worth €250 000 (about R3.8 million).

The first season of the Farming Simulator esports Championship was a test run for GIANTS, with the developer “ready to dive deeper into the world of esports with the upcoming season two“. Season two will have a few big changes, with the first being the name change – it will now be known as the Farming Simulator League, instead of Championship. There will be 10 tournaments hosted across Europe. Each winning team in a tournament is given circuit points and their share of the total €250 000 in prizes. The winning teams at the end of the tournament rounds will compete to become the Farming Simulator Champion, taking home the grand total of €100 000 in prizes.

The new Farming Simulator esports League will be held in the new Farming Simulator 19, with GIANTS partnering with brands like “Logitech G, Intel, noblechairs as well as long term partner Nitrado“. The League will also bring about exciting developments in the game, like a 3 vs 3 mode, where teams challenge each other to determine who is the best at farming, with GIANTS promising to reveal more about the new mode in the future.

GIANTS hopes that this new Farming Simulator esports League is only the start of more big events in the future, explaining that

We have a unique opportunity. Competitive farming is something people enjoy for years now, but it hasn’t been done in esports so far. We have lots of esports enthusiasts in our company who can’t wait to show the world that farming can indeed be fun and competitive at the same time. We believe we found the right mix of real farming and fun to play game elements to ensure everyone will find it entertaining.

Do you think a Farming Simulator esports tournament is cool?

I love everything pop culture. Disney is my life. I was born in the same year as the Internet. I solemnly swear that I am up to no good. Togepi is my Buddy.
