EA Access Possibly Finally Heading To PS4

EA Access

EA Access – the subscription-based gaming service from Electronic Arts – might finally be heading to PlayStation 4. The service is already available for Xbox owners, but the company is planning on making it available on “another major platform“.

During the company’s recent financial reporting conference call, EA’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, spoke about future plans and expansion for EA Access.

In the year ahead we plan to offer a subscription service on another major platform. We have a lot of great content coming in FY20, and we’re excited for more players to experience it through our subscription programs across more platforms.

The company’s CEO didn’t elaborate which major gaming platform he was referring to, but this comment could signal that EA Access will finally make its way onto the PS4. The subscription gaming service has been available for Xbox One owners for over 4 years now, so it would be about time that PS4 owners are given access (no pun intended) to the service.

It’s possible that the company’s CEO could be referring to the Nintendo Switch as the other “major platform” the company plans to bring the subscription service to. However, the PS4 has been around for longer than the Nintendo Switch and has sold more units than the Nintendo Switch, which means more people to possibly subscribe to EA Access.

EA Access currently sets you back about R48.50 ($4.99) a month, which lets you play EA titles like the Battlefield games, Dragon Age, Medal of Honor, FIFA, The Sims 4, Need for Speed and many more. Games added The Vault can be played as much and as many times as you like. The subscription service comes with other perks like a 10% discount on digital EA purchases, and getting early access to new EA titles. The service is still currently listed as being available “exclusively on Xbox One“, but, based on the recent comments made by the company’s CEO, that might change very soon.

Are you keen on EA access being available for PS4 owners?
