Everyone knows by now that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) is getting a huge update this week. It’s been a long wait since the last big feature update or a new Operation, anything except for more chickens and map changes really. As I reported earlier this week, the update should have launched in the early hours of the morning today, but that has not been the case. The massive CS: GO update has clearly been delayed but you won’t have to wait long.
No, we don’t know what the size of the update is and it is not massive in that way, as I needed to explain to some users. It’s a massive update because it will very likely bring the new Survival Mode that players will play on the map Blacksite and it sounds an awful lot like Valve’s own version of Battle Royale. This should be accompanied by a new Operation as well, so there is a lot to look forward to.
Valve announced the delay on the official CS: GO Twitter account. You can see both the tweet about Wednesday and then the tweet indicating the delay until Thursday below.
Sorry, got caught up with some work stuff. I think Thursday’s going to work better. You available then?

Since Valve is in the US, South African gamers will only get the update in the early hours of Friday morning, judging by when Valve normally releases updates.
It’s pretty great that the CS: GO update hasn’t been delayed with a few weeks and rather just a day. I, for one, can’t wait for the update to hit. Keep in mind that the contents of the update have not been confirmed by Valve, but at the very least, all signs point towards something big.
