When I reviewed Mortal Kombat 11 this past weekend, I praised the game for being awesome, brutal and extremely bloody. It took everything we loved from the famed fighting game franchise and dialled things up to 11, creating one amazing experience. However, the game isn’t perfect and the biggest Mortal Kombat 11 issue is that of the extremely slow and grindy progression. It can take days to unlock something useful and this type of grind was unwelcome. Thankfully, developer NetherRealm will be fixing the biggest Mortal Kombat 11 issue as they are listening to feedback from the community.
Ed Boon, the co-creator of Mortal Kombat and Injustice, as well as the creative director of NetherRealm Studios, has explained that they have a hotfix as well as improvements incoming to alleviate that extremely slow grind as well as fix the super-hard Towers of Time which gamers have been struggling with. The developer explains that they are working hard to get the improvements and hotfix to everyone as soon as possible, which is great news for those who are a bit stuck, either progression wise or in the Towers of Time.
MK11 PSA 😀
In case you missed yesterday’s Kombat Kast: We have a hot fix/improvements koming to address those super hard Towers of Time as well as better rewards/economy to be used in the Krypt.
Hoping/expecting it’ll be more like HOURS than days.
Will keep you posted👍🏻

Hopefully, the character progression speed will double, if not triple, as it really was extremely slow and could literally take you days to unlock anything worth the effort. Since there were also a bunch of random elements at play, things could take even longer if you are a bit unlucky. To put things into perspective, I played Towers of Time and Klassic Towers for eight hours after I finished the campaign for a few pieces of gear I didn’t want and one Fatality over this past weekend. Then, I still had to unlock an item’s augmentation slots by playing for another 3 to 4 hours and afterwards, I had to start the long grind for an augmentation that would fit into the slot. Even with the slow progression, I gave Mortal Kombat 11 an 8.5/10 in my review.
