Another day, another set of Anthem problems. The new game from BioWare and EA has had more than just a rocky launch, with Anthem PS4 players seemingly taking the brunt of the issues. Many Anthem PS4 players took to Reddit or anywhere else on the Internet they could find, to share their frustrations with the game, with some players even reporting that the game bricked their PS4 consoles.
EA responded to the horrible experiences Anthem PS4 players were having by stating that it was aware of the issue and encouraged players to report issues to enable it to investigate the matter further.
Now, BioWare has confirmed that it has “identified several causes” as to why some PS4 consoles might be crashing when running Anthem. The gaming company went on to promise players that the issues that have been identified in the game will be fixed with a patch “next week“.
BioWare’s community manager, Chad Robertson, advised Anthem PS4 players to manually shut down their consoles and restart it, claiming “no risk of damage“.
UPDATE: We’ve identified several causes for the temp power-down crash some PS4 users experienced. Fixes for the top issues are in patch next week. If you encounter a game crash where your PS4 console won’t respond, you can manually power down and restart it – no risk of damage.

BioWare also dismissed claims that the game causes PS4 consoles to become bricked. Chad Robertson goes on to claim that the company has thoroughly investigated the claims that the Anthem PS4 version of the game bricks consoles. The company didn’t encounter any instances where the game bricked a PS4 console.
After thorough review, we have not encountered an instance where Anthem has “bricked” a PS4 console. If you are experiencing anything different, please reach out to @EAHelp so we can track the incident and investigate. Thanks for your patience.
