Anthem wasn’t exactly received all that well when it released in February this year and months later, the game still has some issues including post-launch content coming in slower than expected. Recently, fans of the game got some news that didn’t sit too well, as high-profile developers in the Anthem team have moved onto other projects within BioWare. However, according to the developer, they are still committed to Anthem.
In the past week, Anthem fans have started noticing some high-profile developers updated their bios on Twitter indicating that they aren’t involved in the development of the game anymore. This included Mark Darrah, the game’s executive producer, as well as Michael Gamble, the game’s lead producer. Both these big devs have moved onto other projects within BioWare. Further, the game’s director, Jonathan Warner, also stepped away due to a family emergency, but it is believed that Mr Warner will be back sometime in the future.
So what are these developers working on? Well, Mark Darrah made it pretty clear they are working on Dragon Age 4 in a tweet last week, which you can view below.
We aren’t working on Dragon Age 3
We aren’t working on Dragon Age 5
I guess that’s that.

Sure, some fans might be excited about Dragon Age 4, but what about Anthem? BioWare, not for the first time I might add, reassured fans that they are still 100% committed to the game. The head of Live Services at BioWare, Chad Robertson, explained that:
We remain 100% committed to Anthem and look forward to showing players the new content we are working on. We want to make sure we aren’t overpromising, so our updates on what’s coming in the game will be focused when we have things near completion.
Hopefully, BioWare will fix and improve the game, but it is honestly not unreasonable that some fans have been concerned about the game’s future.
Do you think Anthem is in trouble and what type of content/features would make you return to the game if you’ve stopped playing? Let us know in the comment section below.
