Last night I experienced some rather nasty things while playing Anthem as it kept crashing on PS4. As we know, the game constantly crashes and most of the time it takes you back to the PS4 home screen. Well, some users are getting it worse than many as the game is reportedly bricking their console.
While it is the first time we have heard of the bricking story, the crashing is nothing new as myself and a few friends have had the issue where the game would completely shut down the console forcing it to rebuild its database.
Reddit is ablaze with users reporting the issue with some of them saying the game crashed the console and they cannot even turn it on now.
My playstation has been completely bricked to the point of not even turning on because of Anthem. I’m not looking for any sympathy or anything. This post is mainly being made to warn people that this could potentially damage your console to the dreaded point of no return. I’ve been talking on the phone with Playstation support for a little over 2 hours now,but unfortunately theres nothing they can do (or nothing they’re willing to do).
Another user said the issue is persistent throughout the game;
When encountering a crash or game error, sometimes I get booted to the main menu or out of the game completely to the PS4 dashboard. But twice now when trying to matchmake my PS4 has completely turned off. Don’t worry about the loot patch ffs, sort the bugs out first please
EA finally took it upon themselves to respond in regards to the issue. While the did not provide any solution, they state that they are “investigating” the issue.
We’re aware of a crashing issue some of you have been reporting for #AnthemGame. We’re investigating and ask that you share your crash data reports when prompted. If you have, we’ll be reaching out to gather info; if not, please reply to this thread on AHQ:https://t.co/36P21YFjYL

As we learn more and update you on the situation, be careful when playing the game. Perhaps hold off launching it for the time being and save yourself from creating a paperweight.
