Death Stranding releases for PS4 on 8 November this year and with multiple trailers, gameplay footage and details revealed, I still don’t understand the game’s story and most gamers probably feel the same way. It is that mystery of Hideo Kojima’s upcoming title that really draws you in and the new Death Stranding trailer continues with this trend.
The new Death Stranding trailer introduces a very interesting new character called Heartman, a guy who only lives for 21 minutes at a time before he dies as his heart stops for three minutes. This process repeats over and over again as in the trailer, he mentions he has visited the “other side” 218,550 times so far.
Heartman is looking for his family on the other side, and so, he is stuck in an endless cycle. He explains to Sam Bridges (Norman Reedus) that he has grown accustomed to living for 21 minutes at a time and that really made me think about what I would do with 21 minutes of living at a time. These type of extremely interesting characters is something that the new Death Stranding trailer showcases once again and one of the reasons I am extremely excited to play this PS4 exclusive in November.
Heartman is portrayed by Danish film Director Nicolas Winding Refn and another thing that really stood out for me from this new Death Stranding trailer is just how good Heartman looks thanks to the power of the Decima engine, which in case you didn’t know was used to create Horizon Zero Dawn, which is still one of the best looking games out there.
