ASUS has been changing the laptop game for the past 30 years. To celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary, its chairperson, Jonney Shih hosted a special press event at Computex 2019, showing off a bunch of awesome new ASUS notebooks.
The company revealed a few limited edition new ASUS notebooks that are part of the 30th-anniversary celebrations, as well as an exciting lineup of notebooks.
Zenbook Edition 30
As part of the 30th-anniversary lineup, the ZenBook Edition 30 laptop features a special “A” monogram, signifying ASUS values and history created by ASUS Design Center.
It boasts a premium design with genuine leather lid cover and an 18-karat rose gold plated logo and is exclusively equipped with a complete set of premium accessories. It’s the world’s smallest 13-inch laptop featuring a 95% screen-to-body ratio, Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce MX250 discrete graphics.
ZenBook Pro Duo and ZenBook Duo
ASUS also unveiled the ZenBook Pro Duo and ZenBook Duo.
Both these new ASUS notebooks sport the company’s SceenPad Plus, which offers a larger and full-width display, a more intuitive design, seamless viewing experience, and improved multi-screen workflow.
ZenBook Pro Duo features a 15.6-inch 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) OLED HDR display with a 14-inch 4K(3840 x 1100) ScreenPad Plus and is powered by a 9th Gen Intel Core i9 eight-core processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 ray-tracing graphics. It also features 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 3, NumberPad 2.0, Amazon Alexa voice control and a dedicated turbo-cooling button. This model will be available from R39 999 in South Africa.
ZenBook Duo features a 14-inch FHD display with a 12.6-inch FHD ScreenPad Plus, Intel Core i7 processor, and NVIDIA GeForce MX250 discrete graphics.
Both models feature Intel Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with Gig+ to deliver networking speeds of up to 2.4 Gbps for rapid internet connectivity.
The company will have a wide range of new ASUS notebooks and other innovative products on display at this year’s Computex taking place from 28 May – 01 June 2019, in Taiwan.
Some of the exciting products to look out for, include:
ZenBook 13, ZenBook 14, and ZenBook 15 – each holds 8th Generation Intel® Core i7 quad-core CPUs, up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q graphics, 16GB RAM, ultrafast PCIe SSDs and gigabit-class Wi-Fi 5. The new ScreenPad 2.0 is available on all the new ZenBook models. The ASUS ZenBook 14 and 15 will be available from August in South Africa from R26 999.
ASUS VivoBook S14 and S15 – Powered by up to Intel Core i7 processors and NVIDIA GeForce MX250 discrete graphics, these notebooks also feature up to a 1TB PCIe SSD. These are also the first VivoBook models to feature an infrared (IR) camera, and WiFi 6 (802.11ax). These new ASUS notebooks will be available from August in South Africa from R16 999.
