Avengers: Endgame remains as the highest grossing movie currently on the cinema circuits. After bringing in over R30 million in its opening weekend in South Africa, Avengers: Endgame has now made R96 912 409 domestically. Globally, it has made over $2 billion, joining only a few other movies that have been able to achieve that milestone.

10. UglyDolls

This classic under doll (sorry I had to) story is one for the whole family. The movie follows the lives of plush toys who just want to fit in despite their different appearances.

9. Red Joan

6. Long Shot

Starring South African actress, Charlize Theron and comedian, Seth Rogen, Long Shot is sure to make you laugh. A presidential candidate hires an unlikely speechwriter and a lot of fun ensues.

5. The Hustle

Starring Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson, The Hustle follows the life of two beautiful con-artists who have their sites set on a French tech billionaire.

4. Pokémon Detective Pikachu

This live-action movie is what Pokémon fans have been waiting for for years. It’s cute, fun and all other things you would expect from a live-action Pokémon movie.

3. Avengers: Endgame

2. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum was the brand new number one movie in South Africa last week and has now moved down thanks to the new Aladdin movie. The most notorious hit man alive, John Wick (portrayed by Keanu Reeves) becomes the target himself. With a massive bounty on his life, John Wick must try to survive the most ruthless killers alive.

1. Aladdin

Soaring to the top spot this week is the new Aladdin movie directed by Guy Ritchie. Starring Mena Massoud as the new Aladdin in live-action form, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine and Will Smith as the Genie, this new Aladdin movie a real delight.
