Monster Hunter World: Iceborne to Reward Players for Helping Others Catch Up

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne reward

While PC gamers will have to wait until January 2020 to play Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, Xbox One and PS4 owners can look forward to the mammoth expansion releasing this Friday, 6 September 2019. Monter Hunter World is a massive game in its own right and if you haven’t finished the game yet, or plan on picking it up with the expansion, then you will have a lot to do before getting into the Iceborne content. Thankfully, there’s a system in place where the game will reward Iceborne players for helping others catch up.

In order to start your Monster Hunter World: Iceborne journey, you will need to complete the base game’s main campaign as well as reach Hunter Rank 16. This is quite a task for new players, especially those who haven’t played a Monster Hunter title prior to World.

Eurogamer spoke to several Monster Hunter World: Iceborne developers in an interview recently and it was revealed that there are incentives in place for high ranked hunters to help those who haven’t completed World’s story yet. Although specifics on the incentives were not revealed, it sounds like a great system to pull the community closer and make things a bit easier on new players.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne directors Kaname Fujioka and Daisuke Ichihara, explains that:

We’ve also got a system in place called Hunter Helper, so if you haven’t finished World yet and want to catch up so you can play Iceborne, your friends who are a higher rank than you will actually get rewards by playing quests with you and helping you finish up your storyline. We understand there are people who are still part-way along the journey on this game, and we can reassure them it’s definitely something you don’t need to think ‘it’s not for you’ just because you haven’t finished yet, or because you still haven’t reached a certain rank.

Therefore, if you plan on returning to Monster Hunter World, then Iceborne will likely be the perfect time to do so. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne releases on 6 September 2019 on PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release planned for January 2020.
