The original Metro was used as a benchmark while testing new graphics cards for such a long time that if you were in the market for a new GPU, you would ask if it can run Metro properly. Metro Exodus looks incredible and PC gamers are probably wondering if their gaming rig is up to the task. Developer 4A Games have now revealed the Metro Exodus system requirements, including what you need to run the game at 4K 60FPS at Extreme quality settings.
It is always great when you see developers releasing detailed specifications and what you need to run a game at different resolutions as well as frame rates. Hitting that 60FPS mark is always something you want to do on PC, but with Metro Exodus, it looks like you will need quite a beast. Keep in mind that the game will also support Ray Tracing if you have one of those powerful GeForce RTX cards.
If you want to hit 60FPS at 1080p on Metro Exodus, for example, then you need to have an RTX 2060, a GTX 1070 or a Vega 56. The minimum PC specs don’t look that bad at all so at least many PC gamers should be able to play the game. However, that 4K 60FPS Metro Exodus system requirements will probably scare your wallet away if you plan on upgrading for the game.
Check out the full and detailed Metro Exodus system requirements as detailed in an image by the developer below.
That RTX 2080 Ti will set you back over R20,000 just for the GPU and then you need to throw in a Core i9 into the mix as well. With that being said, the recommended requirements are okay and if you have a relatively new gaming PC, there’s a chance you might get good performance out of the game. I, for one, will have to play Metro Exodus at 1080p and 30FPS or upgrade my gaming rig.
With all this being said, the game does look absolutely breathtaking so there’s the reason why it requires such beastly gaming rigs. Metro Exodus releases on 15 February 2019, so you still have roughly two weeks to plan that upgrade.
What do you think about the Metro Exodus system requirements and is your gaming rig up to the task? Let us know in the comment section below and check out the game’s latest trailer while you are at it.
