Halo Infinite Details, a New Trailer and More Unleashed

Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite received a brand new trailer at Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference, along with some new details about the game and a release window. Xbox CEO Phil Spencer announced that the much-anticipated title will launch alongside the next generation Xbox console, codenamed Project Scarlett.

Halo Infinite’s trailer is a gloomy affair, focusing on imagery that fondly reminds us of the original Halo titles developed by Bungie, including Master Chief’s old-school armour design. The trailer ends with a stinger teasing Cortana, though the nature of her interactions with Master Chief are unknown yet.

Xbox Wire released a more detailed description of Halo Infinite’s story, along with our first details on developer 343 Industries preferred engine:

The Master Chief returns in 2020 when Halo Infinite releases globally with Project Scarlett. This next chapter in 343 Industries’ legendary Halo franchise invites players to join the venerable Master Chief on an all-new adventure as he uncovers the mysteries surrounding the appearance of The Pilot and the desolate remains of a Halo ring. Halo Infinite is powered by the studio’s next-generation Slipspace Engine.

Halo Infinite is planned to release with Project Scarlett in the holiday season of 2020, lending some confirmation to the speculation that the next generation of consoles would roll around towards the end of the year. The ball is in Sony’s court now, and whether or not that follow a similar release window with the PS5. For the time being, Microsoft is banking on nostalgia and 343 Industries to deliver an experience unlike any other in Halo Infinite.
