The much-anticipated eight and final season of Game of Thrones is coming to a dramatic conclusion this year. In a new teaser trailer, the Game of Thrones season 8 release date has been revealed, along with some awesome new details for the upcoming final season.
In a new teaser trailer, it has been revealed that the first episode for the final season of this successful HBO show will air on 14 April 2019.
The Game of Thrones season 8 release date isn’t the only exciting news that was revealed by the new teaser trailer. In it, we’re shown how Arya, Sansa, and Jon walk through the Stark family tomb. Flashback voiceovers from past characters can be heard. For instance, Lady Stark’s eery past words about how all the bad things that have happened to the Stark family, happened because she couldn’t love Jon Snow as her own child. This quote comes from season 3 of Game of Thrones. Various other key quotes from the previous seven seasons are dropped during this Game of Thrones season 8 release date and teaser reveal.
The three siblings then meet in front of what appears to be three statutes, representing their three respective tombs. A chill suddenly fills the tomb, which causes a fallen feather to freeze. The three characters all draw their weapons and turn around to face the frost.

A notable omission from this teaser trailer, as well as previous promotional footage for the upcoming final season, is Bran Stark. His absence is especially obvious in the new teaser, seeing as it is set at Winterfell and seems to centre around the Stark storyline.
The final season of Game of Thrones is sure to be a massively dramatic conclusion to one of the most successful HBO shows ever. The final season will only have six episodes. However, the creator of the show called the episodes of the final season “six movies” at the 2019 Golden Globes.
