The first teaser image for Disney’s live-action Aladdin film has been released. Will Smith, who is playing the Genie in the film posted the poster on his Instagram account last night and the world went crazy.
Walt Disney then followed by posting the same image on Twitter saying that the first glimpse of the live-action movie will be going live sometime later today. This could hint at a possible teaser trailer or some set photos.
Will Smith’s Instagram post read “LEMME OUT!! Can’t wait for y’all to see me blue! 🙂 #aladdin.
At the official Disney Africa Showcase last week, we saw a glimpse of the Aladdin cast which includes Mena Massoud as Aladdin and Power Rangers’ Naomi Scott who will play Jasmine. Disney had also confirmed that Will Smith will be playing Genie. Guy Ritchie will be directing this ambitious film.
Disney has a load of live-action adaptions releasing in the next couple of years including The Lion King, Dumbo, Mulan, Lilo and Stitch, Maleficent II, Lady and the Tramp and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. The Lion King is the next release after Aladdin on 19 July 2019.
Stay tuned for more as the teaser releases today. The film will make its cinema debut on 24 May 2019 worldwide.
