Game of Thrones Prequel Title Possibly Revealed – Now in Full Production

Games of Thrones Prequel

Game of Thrones Season 8 might be over but that does not mean the world and its story are finished. HBO plans on milking this cow dry and the Game of Thrones Prequel is now in full production.

While we don’t know much about the show, we know it will be set thousands of years before the current story we all know and love (and hate). According to EW, George R.R Martin has revealed what the show might be called. Martin noted that the Game of Thrones prequel series could be called “The Long Night” as it is still his preferred name.

Things are ramping up for one of the four prequel shows planned at the studio. According to EW, production already began in mid-June last month. HBO is reportedly working on four Game of Thrones prequel shows with the first one now currently in production in Northern Ireland.

We also know Naomi Watts has been cast in a lead role for the show along with Denise Gough, Jamie Campbell Bower, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp, Toby Regbo and Josh Whitehouse.

The pilot episode is being directed by SJ Clarkson who is also directing the upcoming Star Trek 4 movie. He is also known for his Netflix shows such as Marvel’s Jessica Jones, The Defenders and Orange is the New Black.

The Game of Thrones prequel, now known as The Long Night was co-written by George R.R Martin and Jane Goldman. It will take place thousands of years before the current story and will follow the Age of Heroes period. The show will touch on the “hundreds of kingdoms” that ruled the lands back in the day.
