Game of Thrones fans turned on the creators of the final season of the popular HBO show. Last week, a Game of Thrones petition was started to try to force the creators to redo the eighth and final season after fans felt like the show was going up in flames.
The Game of Thrones petition was started by a user called Dylan D to try to force HBO to fire the showrunners for the final season, David Benioff and D.B Weiss. The petition seeks to replace them with “competent writers” who should redo the eighth and final season.
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers. This series deserves a final season that makes sense.
The Game of Thrones petition has now blown past 1 million signatures (sitting at 1.17 million at the time of writing) and is featured on the front page of the popular petition site, Change.org. The petition is a sign of frustration, with the user who started it explaining that he doesn’t “think people can reasonably expect HBO to completely remake the season“. He goes on to explain that the petition was a way to show fans’ frustrations with the final season of Game of Thrones. Based on the number of signatures the Game of Thrones petition has garnered since it was started, many fans are frustrated with the final season and how the show is wrapping things up.
The final episode of the final season HBO’s Game of Thrones has already aired, meaning the show has now reached its climatic end, whether fans are happy or not. Chances are slim the creators of the show or HBO would consider remaking the final season, even after some embarrassing and frustration moments like when things were too dark to see anything, or when someone forgot a Starbucks cup in a scene.
Game of Thrones first aired back in 2011, and has since captivated the world throughout eight seasons.
