With The International 2019 now behind us, the post-TI shuffle has begun. There are quite a few rumours floating around, from Fly being out of EG and more, but we will only be focusing on confirmed team changes for our Dota 2 esports coverage. The biggest announcement so far if you ask me is that North American organization, compLexity, has dropped their entire roster of players.
It is no secret that compLexity didn’t do well in the last DPC season and failed to qualify for The International 2019, placing a disappointing 6th in the NA regional qualifier. They only had 153 points at the end of the DPC season and the team really underperformed in my opinion.
The compLexity team ran into multiple visa issues and the last time we saw them at a big event was the MDL DisneyLand Major where they placed 9/12th. Now, the organization has decided to drop its entire roster, explaining that:
It is with great appreciation that we announce the release of our Dota 2 roster today. We’d like to thank the team for this season and wish everyone the best moving forward. Over the next few weeks and months, we will be evaluating our options for the next DPC season.
It didn’t help that the NA region had zero DPC events last season or even big any big Dota 2 LAN events.
The following players will now have to find a new team to play with or an organization to pick the roster up:
- Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen
- Linus “Limmp” Blomdin
- Otávio ‘tavo’ Gabriel
- Zakari “Zfreek” Freedman
- Adam “Adam” Shah
It remains to be seen where these players will go, but one thing is for sure, the post-TI roster shuffle is going to be an interesting one this year.
Are you a compLexity fan and where do you think these Dota 2 pro players will end up for the upcoming DPC season? Let us know in the comment section below.
