The regional qualifiers for the final major of this DPC season took place from 15 to 19 May and delivered some amazing matches for Dota 2 fans to watch. Now, 14 of the 16 teams for the Epicenter Major have been set. The Epicenter Major is of the utmost importance, as this will make or break some teams’ chances for a direct invite to The International 2019.
The Epicenter Major’s main event will take place between 22 and 30 June with the group stages running from 22 to 23 June. The tournament features a $1 million prize pool and more importantly for most Dota 2 professional teams, a whopping 15,000 DPC points. Basically, the final three teams will automatically qualify for The International 2019 with 4,950 points going to the winner, 3,000 points going to the runner up and 2,100 going to the third place spot. That’s even if these teams didn’t earn a single point during the entire DPC season leading up to the event.
That’s probably one reason why the regional qualifiers for the tournament produced insane slugfests with the teams fighting it out in spectacular fashion over the past weekend. Check out which teams managed to qualify for the Epicenter Major below. The teams are sorted in order of region and qualification spot.
- Team Secret
- Team Liquid
- Gambit Esports
- Royal Never Give Up
- Vici Gaming
- TNC Predator
- Forward Gaming
- Evil Geniuses
- paiN Gaming
The last two spots will go to the first and second place finishes in the StarLadder Imba Minor Season 2 which is set to take place from 12 to 15 June. The tournament will also feature a total of 1000 DPC points, which should help some teams climb the DPC rankings just a little bit.
