Creators United

The Creators United event took place on 27 and 28 July 2019 and was a collaboration of passionate content creators in SA from streamers, D&D players to developers and business owners. The 24-hour stream was hosted through the Nexus Hub’s YouTube channel and was a massive success raising R117,000 for charity.

The goal of the event was to raise R50,000. All proceeds would go to the Abraham Kriel Bambanani and the event more than doubled the donations.

Throughout the stream, content creators and personalities joined in to deliver exciting segments which included interviews with local game developers like Cali4Ways Games, a YouTube workshop with Grant Hinds and a lot of Dungeons and Dragons.

Sponsors of the event included Inkblot Digital Content Creations, Documinute, Kubili Mediahouse, Battlefield Clan Wars, Nexus Hub for production assistance. Gamefinity, Asus, Apex Interactive, Berghaven Holiday Cottages, Rectron, Seagate, AMD and Unplug Yourself,

You can check out a recap of the event in a cool video down below.

Of course, the event would not have been possible if it was not for the amazing team at Nexus Hub. Trevor Sporen, Francois Venter and Tex Hartog worked throughout the weekend to make sure the entire 24-hour stream was well-organized and everything ran smoothly.

The Creators United event should be seen as an example of a great initiative done well and how a community can come together for a good cause. Until the next one!
