control system requirements ray-tracing

Developer Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming supernatural action-adventure title, Control, is looking spectacular especially in the RTX trailer (view at the bottom of this article) released at E3 2019. The game features some great destruction by the looks of it and with RTX tech from contact shadows, diffuse global illumination and transparent reflections, it is sure to deliver some real eye candy. What PC gamers need to know is if there gaming rig is up to the task and now, the official Control System Requirements have been revealed, including what you will need for Ray-Tracing.

It goes without saying that you will need a GeForce RTX card for Ray-Tracing and the Control System Requirements reflect just that, with a minimum of a GeForce RTX 2060 required, while the recommended is the extremely powerful (and expensive) GeForce RTX 2080.

Check out the Control System Requirements including Ray-Tracing requirements below as per the game’s Epic Games Store page.

Minimum Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7, 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-7500 / AMD Ryzen 3 1300X or better
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD RX580 or better
  • For Ray-Tracing: GeForce RTX 2060
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • DirectX: DX11
  • Additional Features: Widescreen support 21:9 / Remappable controls / Uncapped frame-rate / G-Sync / Freesync support

Recommended Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10, 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8600K / AMD Ryzen 7 2700X or better
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti / AMD Radeon VII or better
  • For Ray-Tracing: GeForce RTX 2080
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • DirectX: DX11 / DX12
  • Additional Features: Widescreen support 21:9 / Remappable controls / Uncapped frame-rate / G-Sync / Freesync support

As you can see, you will need a beast of a PC with a very powerful graphics card to get the most out of Control, but the minimum without Ray-Tracing does look managable for a gaming PC built in the last four years or so.

Control is set to release on 27 August 2019 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
