Sony’s upcoming Uncharted movie adaptation has started doing casting calls, with the role of Nathan Drake’s mentor, Victor “Sully” Sullivan, already being rumoured to be going to a major movie star. One of the names being thrown around for the role of Sully is Australian-born, Chris Hemsworth who is well-known for his portrayal of Thor in the Marvel movies.
The upcoming Uncharted movie will be directed by Dan Trachtenberg, so let’s take a look at some of the possible casting choices for the role of Sully.
Chris Hemsworth is First Choice
On top of the shortlist of actors to portray the role of Sully is Chris Hemsworth.
This choice would be cool, seeing as another one of Marvel’s actors, Tom Holland, has already been cast as the title character of Nathan Drake.
Joining Chris Hemsworth on the shortlist of possible actors to portray the role of Sully, includes Matthew McConaughey, Chris Pine, and Woody Harrelson.
Sony’s official bio for the character of Sully for the upcoming Uncharted movie describes him as
Rugged and handsome, equal parts refinement and contagious charm, Sully is the kind of guy who turns heads when he walks into the room. Sully is a highly skilled career criminal – he knows how to read a room quickly and impressively, and nothing gets past him. He becomes Nate’s mentor and teaches him everything he knows, helping mold him from a small-time pickpocket into a skilled thief. Sully has a fun banter with Nate, and though at moments he feels like a father figure to him, in truth he is self-interested above all else. Sully does care for Nate, and goes against his instincts to save him in the end.
The upcoming Uncharted movie is slated to start production in July 2019, so by then, we should know whether Chris Hemsworth or one of the other stars on the shortlist will be playing the role of Sully.
