Valve recently announced the Dota 2 Short Film Contest for 2019 and for content creators out there, it is definitely an exciting time. We love seeing local creations and that is why we are calling on all South African content creators who plan on entering the Dota 2 Short Film Contest for a shot at being showcased during The International 2019.
It would be absolutely amazing to see a locally-created video feature at The International 2019 and hopefully, we can at least help spread the word on some local entries. That’s why we are calling on our local content creators to share your short films with us.
When you have created a video for the Dota 2 Short Film Contest, please put it in the comment section of this article including a link to the Steam Workshop page where we can vote. Then, closer to the time of The International 2019, we will share the top local creations in a post. Further, for those who give us permission, we can also create a short film compilation video with links and where to vote, with all credit obviously going to the content creators.
Valve explains in a recent blog post that:
You have until 7 August 2019 to submit those creations to Valve and the winner gets a whopping $25,000 (roughly R360,000), while second place gets $10,000 and third place gets $5,000. Furthermore, the rest of the top 10 gets $500 each, so that’s a great reason to enter the Dota 2 Short Film Contest, not to mention that the winner will be shown live during The International 2019.
You can also email my directly at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
So what are you waiting for? Start creating those videos and when they are done, share them with us as well as a link to them on the Steam Workshop in the comment section below so we can spread the word.
