Apple has had a busy week. The company announced and released the new iPad Mini and the much-rumoured AirPods 2 and along with it all, leaked their wireless charging pad, AirPower.
The new AirPods are kind of the same thing. Apple added a new wireless charging case for them, a new faster chip to connect the earphones to your devices at double the speed and “Hey Siri” support. The new charging case then led to Apple leaking their own wireless charging mat.

After having officially revealed its latest version of AirPods, as well as a new iPad Mini, new iMac, and new iPad Air, Apple reportedly leaked another, unofficial product on its Australian site. The image showing the AirPower wireless charging device has now been removed, but it had an accompanying marketing copy, too, which means we could be seeing this product officially unveiled by Apple soon.
With the new Wireless Charging Case, charing is as simple as placing the AirPods case on a Qi-compatible mat. That’s it. The LED indicator on the front of the case lets you know that your AirPods are charging. And when you’re away from a charging mat, you can use the Lightning connector to charge.
The AirPower wireless charging device will apparently be able to charge up to three devices at a time. The same product was also leaked when Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 4, which means the product has at least been around since sometime from September 2018 when the Watch Series 4 was released.
Apple is hosting an event on 25 March 2019, where it’s expected to unveil its rumoured streaming service. “It’s showtime” is the theme of Apple’s event, which seems to suggest that we will be getting some news on what to expect from Apple and it’s possible streaming service. Whether Apple uses this event as the perfect opportunity to unveil it new wireless charging device, remains to be seen, but it seems like the March 25th Apple event will be focused on unveiling its streaming service.
