Netlix’s Luke Cage Cancelled

Luke Cage Cancelled

Luke Cage cancelled. Yes, it is true. Last week it was revealed that Iron Fist, after its second season on Netflix would not be returning for a third and now we have even worse news. Netflix has announced that Luke Cage will not make its return to the service for its third season either making it the second Marvel show cancelled on Netflix in a month.

“Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.”

The news broke on the same day Daredevil premiered its third season on Netflix which has been doing pretty well since. Luke Cage could just not match up to the quality and refinement found in the likes of The Punisher and Daredevil and I agree that it was the weakest of the offerings from Netflix and Marvel.

It will not be the last time we see Luka Cage though as Luke, as well as Iron Fist, have a strong connection in the Netflix Marvel Universe with the likes of Jessica Jones all appearing in the Defenders series. I am sure we will see more of the two cancelled characters if the Defenders continues to be the reunion series in the future.

What do you think of this cancellation? Let us know in the comments below.
