US Embassy Accidentally sends out a Cookie Monster Cat Invite and it is the Best Thing You’ll See Today

So, the official story is that the US State Department accidentally sent out an email of a kitty in blue PJ’s eating cookies. It was supposed to be an invitation to some sort of meeting. Who cares. It is epic, and it is the best thing you’ll see today. It is proof that cats rule, and in my book, it should be the next Internet Cat. It is officially known as Cookie Monster Cat.

To further complicate things, the US embassy in Australia apologized on behalf of the US State Department for the email that apparently also included some words in Latin and an RSVP. A few important people weighed in on the situation, one being Gavin Sundwall, a  Foreign Service Officer at U.S.Department of State.

Sorry to disappoint those of you who were hoping to attend this ‘cat pyjama-jam’ party, but such an event falls well outside our area of expertise. It was a training error made by one of our new staff testing out our email newsletter platform.

Even the US embassy to New Zealand weighed in;

Scot Brown, the U.S. Ambassador to New Zealand & Samoa also had a thing to say.

The plot thickens. There is currently no United States ambassador in Australia. The position is vacant. Previously filled by John Berry (2013–2016), who was nominated by President Obama. Mr. Berry was also the very first openly gay U.S ambassador to a G-20 nation. His introduction video holds the title as the “friendliest introduction video in diplomatic history.” And we all know how uptight the Aussies can be. The country probably holds the record for banning the most video games or enforcing ridiculous maturity ratings. I don’t know if what I just said is true, but it sounds right. Cookie Monster Cat agrees.

We of The Wireless Society know that Cats rule and that they are behind the Cookie Monster Cat debacle. It’s not a mistake by some bureaucrat, it was a bureaucat. Placed in government for a purpose. And I think I discovered said purpose.

The Urban dictionary describes the term “Cats pajamas as follows:

An adjective used by hipsters of the 1920’s to describe a person who is the best at what they do. Also used to describe another person who is genial and fun to be with.

So, the Society of Internet Cats decided Australia needs a new U.S. ambassador. As the enlightened ones know, Cats have very specific tastes, so they decided to set up the fake email thing. They now have a list of possible candidates, and a new appointment will follow shortly.
